10 Pretty Messy Hair Styles to Save Your Time

All your hair needs is a bit of a reboot with some near effortless styling that results in an equally effortless look. These 20 hair hacks make messy look SO pretty that you might just convince your pals that you woke up like dis.

1. Messy High Bun: We’re seriously swooning over this tousled high bun, which itself is pretty much just tossed on top of the head. What really makes this style special are the loose layer of hair curled to crimpy perfection.

1

2. Loose Braid: Tight crown braids, meet your lazy match. Simply Dutch braid both sides of your center-parted hair to achieve this ultra dreamy look.

2

3. Twisted Bun Headband: First, there were hair bows. Now get ready for a hair headband made out of tiny twisted buns. It’s a must-try ‘do for ladies with bangs.

3

4. Center Twist Bun: A center part never looked so chic! This pretty messy masterpiece is perfection from pomp to twisted pony.

4

5. Messy Chignon: This chignon is as easy as twist and tuck! We love how two thin side braids give boho flair to this effortless ‘do.

5

6. Faux Fringe Hair: Long bangs are iconic as far as pretty messy hairstyles go, and now you can try the look even without fringe! Just pull your hair up into a high pony, fan your ends toward your face, and cinch with a silky scarf.

6

7. Feathered Hair: Use a flatiron to create beautiful bends in your hair that mimic the feathered locks of ‘70s babes, but in a totally modern way.

7

8. Messy Side Pony: Confession: we still rock the side pony on a weekly basis. And like almosteverything else from the ‘90s, it’s making a comeback in a totally chic way. Ease back into this hair routine by teasing your hair before you sweep it to the side.

8

9. Faux Bob: This might be the most easy-glam hair hack of all: the faux bob. We know, it looks SO elegant, right? But it’s yet another curl, tease and tuck — we highly suggest mastering those three steps!

11

10. Textured French Twist: Now THIS is the look to own this spring wedding season. It’s a high-class style that will work with nearly any semi-formal dress.

The Most Iconic Hairstyles for Women of the Last 100 Years

Hairstyles throughout the 1900s were based largely on what was going on at the time–from wars to politics to social movements. Today, we’re more concerned with haircuts that complement our face shape and skin tone, and how Beyoncé wears her hair. Here are the most iconic hairstyles of the last fifty years. Where does your ‘do fit in?

1.1950s: Perfectly Coiffed

With the end of the war came an end to rationing as well as an end to practical hairstyles for women working in factories. With the use of bobby pins, rollers, and hairspray; women’s hair became perfectly sculpted and coiffed with hairstyles that incorporated rolled bangs and soft curls. Fifties bombshells include Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Lucille Ball–all of whom had hair that was never out of place.

7

2.1960s: Bouffant

The 1960s was a decade filled with bouffants, beehives, and pixie cuts. The Kennedy and Nixon presidential debate was the first to be televised, catapulting these men and their significant others to star status. Almost synonymous with Jackie Kennedy, the bouffant hairstyle was considered to be ultra glamorous and had girls attempting to recreate it in every age group.

8

3.1960s: Beehive

High-school girls took the bouffant to the next level by creating the beehive–a much taller and more teased version that literally reached new heights seen on beauties like Brigitte Bardot.

9

4.1960s: Afro

The African-American Civil Rights Movement gave the African-American community a revived sense of togetherness and brought about more natural hairstyles like the afro, which was worn by both women and men. Angela Davis, Pam Grier, and The Supremes are just a few women that brought the afro back.

10

5.1970s: Feather Cut

The 1970s were a continuation of the Feminist Movement, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Youth Suffrage Movement and women’s hairstyles were just as much of a myriad. The most popular hairstyle (and the most long-lasting!) was introduced by Farrah Fawcett and was a full-of-body feather cut with tons of bounce.

11

6.1970s: Sleek and Straight

The 1970s were heavily influenced by television and Hollywood, and saw a huge increase in styling tools and hair-showering products. Cher, along with the entire hippie generation, wore her hair long and straight with a centre part.

12

7.1980s: Big and Bleached

In 1981, MTV launched and created an entirely new avenue for fandom–people were no longer simply interested in film stars, but music stars as well. With her over abundance of lace, wacky colours, and oversized locks, Madonna burst onto the scene and captured the hearts of everyone, everywhere.

13

8.1990s: The “Rachel”

At the peak of its popularity, the show Friends proved to be a huge influence on women’s hair–particularly Jennifer Aniston’s character, Rachel. Aniston’s shoulder-length sleek cut with layers and mid-length bangs was splashed across countless magazine covers.

14

9.1990s: Crazy Confusion

Other popular styles included crimping, feathered bangs, spiky up-dos, and the leave-two-single-strands-out-of-your-ponytail look–in retrospect, it was not a good decade for hair.

15

10.2000s: Beach Waves

In the early 2000s, MTV gave the world some insight into the lives of privileged high-school kids from California. On Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, and subsequently, The Hills, the world fell in love with a young blonde named Lauren Conrad–and her beachy waves. The coveted ‘do spawned hundreds of beauty products, including salt-water spray that promised to give you that just-returned-from-the-beach hairstyle.

11.2010s: Super Short

Over the last few years, we’ve seen an explosion of pixie cuts. From Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence to Miley Cyrus and Pamela Anderson, we’re seeing stars say goodbye to their long and loose waves and hello to ultra-cropped cuts.

17

12.2016 long bob

The long bob is our go-to cut. For those hot and sweaty days, you’ll want a haircut that is decidedly low-maintenance, and relies on nothing more than a spritz or two of texturizing spray.

How to Choose A Hair Style for Your Face Shape

What do you talk to your stylist about when you’re sitting in the hairdresser contemplating your next haircut? Perhaps you mention how greasy your hair gets, whether it tangles easily, how fine, flyaway or perhaps coarse your hair type is. All are factors that’ll help your stylist choose the right sort of cut for you, but do you ever talk about your face shape? The truth is that the dimensions of your face play a major role in how well any style will suit you. It’s all well and good taking a picture of Taylor Swift and her new sleek bob with you to the hairdresser, but the length, style and cut might not transpose in quite the way you’d like unless you have the same sort of face shape.

Firstly ,please make a rough judgment to your face shape .

3_副本

If you have a long face

Don’t

“You can wear your hair long, but not too long. If you have a long face paired with long hair that’s parted in the centre your face will just appear longer.”

Do

“If you have a long face take advantage of the fact that you can rock a strong fringe. Loose waves are also a pretty way to style hair around a long face as they add width and dimension.”

5

If you have a round face:

Don’t

“Definitely steer clear of any type of bob. A jaw-length style will only draw attention to and serve to accentuate any fullness or roundness around the jaw.”

Do

“A longer style with soft graduated layers that incorporate height and volume will be the most flattering style. This will also lend itself to movement within the style and will give the illusion of added length to the face. When you’re blow-drying, ensure you use a round-barrelled brush to give height at the root and prevent hair falling flat at the crown.”

7

If you have an oval face shape:

Don’t

“Oval face shapes can wear pretty much any style, but to keep it flattering don’t grow your hair too long as it’ll make your face look longer.”

Do

“The great thing about an oval face shape is that you can wear pretty much any style as it’s the most balanced and well proportioned face shape. I would suggest going for a textured bob as it’s bang on trend. It looks great against this face shape and it’s incredibly easy to maintain.”

If your face is square:

Don’t

“The style you absolutely want to avoid is any kind of blunt cut. Especially a blunt fringe. Just, no! Any kind of blunt finish will emphasise the already angular shape of your face.”

Do

“When you have a square-shaped face you can use your hairstyle to counteract the angles of the jawline to create a softer look. Sweeping side fringes work really well to do this, as do soft waves. Try using a wide-barrelled tong to create movement being sure to curl the hair away from your face.”

10

If you have a heart-shaped face:

Don’t

“With heart-shaped faces the bottom half of your face is narrower than the top half, so avoid a cut that’s top heavy – like a blunt fringe – as this will just dwarf the rest of your face.”

Do

“One of the characteristics of heart-shaped faces is usually good, sharp cheekbones. You can emphasise these with your cut by choosing a style with a side parting as this will frame the face. Additionally some light balayage around the face will look really pretty.”

13

If your face is Diamond-shaped:

Don’t

“Avoid cuts that end at your jawline or that are too long as this will draw the eye to the lower half of your face and may make it seem narrower.”

Do

“A fringed pixie cut will help balance out your jawline. Make sure you add as much volume and width at the temples when you style hair.”

HOW to DYE PEACH PINK HAIR by sayomiku

Hello my lovelies! As you may have seen (it’s hard to miss) I have dyed my hair this wonderful and cute pink, peach, coral, pastel orangey colour – honestly there are so many colours to describe how this hair looks. I love it so much! So many of you have already asked which brands I used and the process etc, so here I am, giving you all the deets!
Cc-NNF5W0AAx8bm
Brands of dye;
For this exquisite colour, I used a mixture of two different colours from La Rich’e Directions. There’s Pastel Pink which I used for those corally peach tones mixed with Flamingo Pink which ensured that the blonde in my hair was covered.
In terms of ratio; I used 1 part Flamingo Pink, 2 parts Pastel Pink and 4 parts Conditioner to create a pinky creamy colour.
To get hair this light and ready for pastel colours, it needs to be very very blonde. Almost white if you can get it that light. I went from dark brown hair to light blonde in 3 bleaches (bleached my hair 3 times.) My hair is very resistant and strong, thankfully, so I did this over the course of 3 days, ensuring to deeply condition my hair overnight between each bleaching session.
My hair was this shade as seen on Kim (below). If I was to do Purple or Blue then it would need to be more like the second photo before dyeing to ensure your colour comes out perfect; which can be done with a toner.

kim-kardashian-blondebleached-hair

As for hair extensions, this time I used DONA LOVE HAIR in 24″ 130g. These extensions are so nice and long and super soft.
If you are thinking of dyeing your hair a fashion/unnatural colour then here is a chart of dyes you can buy from the same brand which are also cheap and affordable:ALL COLOUR CHART
My faves are Silver, Coral Red, Pastel Pink, Apricot and Rose Red!

I hope this post was helpful and as always, if you have any questions comment them here.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day oxoxCc92IiWXEAArY2X
